Linden Honey
Linden honey is the most intensely flavoured Hungarian "folk honey".
The wonderfully fragrant flowers of the linden tree abound in nectar, one of the most delicious of all goodies. Linden honey has the most powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Linden honey inhibits atherosclerosis and relieves the symptoms of febrile illnesses. Linden honey also helps with coughs, bronchitis, nervousness, insomnia and has antispasmodic properties. Linden honey is also recommended for digestive disorders caused by the overproduction of stomach acid. Its antiseptic properties make it particularly useful against coughs. The choline content of lime honey helps to fight atherosclerosis. It is also effective against insomnia.
Properties of linden honey:
Lime honey ranges in colour from pale yellow to medium brown and has a very sweet taste. Its colour varies depending on when it was harvested. It has a strong, characteristic aroma and taste. When added to other honeys, linden honey enriches their flavour.
Recommended consumption:
Consumption of 4-5 teaspoons of lime honey per day is recommended. It is also excellent for flavouring tea ( linden tea). It is particularly recommended for young children and the elderly. Lime honey is excellent for natural consumption and for flavouring drinks. In case of insomnia it is recommended to take 1-2 teaspoons before going to bed.
